Newspaper Quiz
| Question | Answer |

| Headline | The words in large print at the top of a story or article. |
| By-line | The line that tells the name of the writer of the story or article. |
| Caption | Words explaining a picture or illustration. It usually appears above, below, or beside the picture. |
| Column | A narrow section of the print running from top to bottom. You can only read one column at a time. |
| Nameplate | Top part of the paper that gives the paper a name. (Always remember to capitalize the name of a paper and if referring to it in writing always underline it or make it bold.) |
| Lead | The first paragraph of a story giving a quick summary of the important facts. |
| Index | Table of contents showing what page each section can be found. |
| Subhead | A small headline between paragraphs in a story. |
| Edition | Each separate printing of a newspaper. Some cities have a morning edition and an evening paper. |
| Editotial | an article expressing an opintion |
| Dateline | the line that tells where the story takes place |
| News-brief | summary- calling attention to certain feature article inside the paper |
