What is the Oral Torah? / How is the Oral Torah different from the Torah (Written Torah)? The Oral Torah is the body of laws, customs, and comments that explain the Commandments and teachings of the Written Torah. The oral law includes interpretations and explanations; but the written law was more like our Constitution more basic.
