Habeas Corpus The legal concept that an accused person cannot be jailed indefinitely without being charged with a crime
Commoner a common person, as distinguished from one with rank, status, etc. any person ranking below a peer; a person without a title of nobility. a member of the House of Commons. a person who has a joint right in common land.
Crossbow a medieval weapon consisting of a bow fixed transversely on a stock having a trigger mechanism to release the bowstring, and often incorporating or accompanied by a mechanism for bending the bow.
Longbow a large bow drawn by hand, as that used by English archers from the 12th to the 16th centuries.
Truce a suspension of hostilities for a specified period of time by mutual agreement of the warring parties;cease-fire; armistice.
Heretic A person who holds beliefs that are contrary to a set of religious teachings
Magna Carta A written legal agreement signed in 1215 that limited the English monarch’s power
Hundred Years War A series of battles fought between France and England from 1337 to 1453
