Tourism The industry which provides information, accommodation, transportation, and other services to tourists.
Tourist When a person travels somewhere for more than one day, but less than one year.
Ecological Footprint A measure of our demand on the earth's resources.
Ecotourism Holidays which involve eco-related activities and are sustainable.
Sustainable tourism Tourist activities that benefit the area socially, environmentally and economically.
Carbon offsetting Compensating for the emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere by planting trees.
Leisure Any freely chosen activity done is someone’s free time.
International Tourist Someone who goes on a holiday to a country they are not a resident in.
Domestic Tourist Someone who goes on holiday in their own residential country.
Mass Tourism When a place becomes a destination for large numbers of tourists.
Sustainable Can be continued into the future without harm.
Standard of living The wealth and services available to people e.g. hospitals, schools.
