מַקשָן – תַּרצָן If we want to refer to the one asking/challenging or answering in an anonymous Talmudic discussion. we might refer to the one who presents a question/challenge as the מַקשָן meaning the critic and תַּרצָן to the one who answers or tries to resolve the challange.
רַב VS רַבִּי רַבִּי - Was a Title that was reserved for Sages who recieved 'Smicha' Rav - was a Title used for Sages who did not have 'Smicha'. (Because Smicha could only be done in Eretz Yisrael, Most of the Sages Living in Bavel could not get Smicha)
רַבִּי יוֹחֳנֳן Rabbi Yochanan Lived in the early era of the Talmud. As a young orphan he was raised by Rabbi Yehuda Hanasi. He lived in Israel and passed away in CE. 279
שְׂכַר מצוָה Mitzvah 'Payment'. Refers to the reward from Hashem given to the person that does a Mitzvah.
וְהָאֲמַר introduces a quote that seems to Challenge a held assumption: Can x be correct?! But (he --- an 'Amora')Said
מֵימְרָא A Statement from by an 'Amora'(Sage of the Talmud). A Maimra is to Amorah as Mishna is to Tanah.
