describe rotational speed. Hint: think of ant example! Rotational speed (is sometimes called angular speed) is the number of rotational per unit of time. All parts of the wheel rotate about their axis in the same amount of time. (think of ant example!)
What is the centripetal force equation? calculate centripetal force Fc= mv^2 / r v^2 is the centripetal acceleration because F=ma, c equals Fc=maC (centrip. accel.) Ac= v^2/r Sample prob.: Calc. the tension in a 1-m long dog leash that whirls a 2-kg dog at 5 m/s in a horizontal circle.
give examples of centripetal force. When you turn around the corner in your Lamborghini the sideways friction btwn. the tires and road creates a centripetal force that holds the car on a curved path.
explain why centrifugal force is “fictitious.” Centrifugal force is fictitious because it is away from the center and the gravity is pushing outward.
describe how a simulated gravitational acceleration can be produced.
