check out (v) to borrow a book from a library
circulation desk (n) the place in a library where you can check out books
due date (n) The date you must return library materials.
fine (n) Money you might owe for not returning library materials on time.
New Readers’ Room (n) The room on the 4th floor of the library where there are books for ESL students
overdue (adj) not returned on time
reference desk (n) the place in a library where you can ask for help finding books or information
renew (v) to arrange to borrow a library book for a longer period of time
biography (n) A story about a person’s life.
periodicals (n) magazines, journals and newspapers, such as Time, Newsweek and the Seattle Times
magazine (n) a large thin book with a paper cover that contains news stories, articles, photographs, and is sold weekly or monthly
fiction (n) books and stories about imaginary people and events
nonfiction (n) books and stories about real people and events
title (n) the name given to a particular book, movie, painting, play, etc
novel (n) a long written story in which the characters and events are usually imaginary [↪ fiction]
