| 1870 | Rockefeller- standard oil. Industrialization. Monopoly- eventually government is going to have to come in and break Rockefeller. |
| 1872-4 | Great buffalo slaughter. Approx 9 mill buffalo were killed, white guys kill what gets in there way- buffalo. |
| 1873 | Andrew Carnegie- steel. Controlled steel mines, and metal. |
| 1876 | Alexander Gram Belle- Telephone. First phone call – NY to Boston. Central park established- place of relief (urban planning). |

| 1933 | New president- Roosevelt (people realized Hoover = joke) “New Deal” – social security, FDIC, end to prohibition, government projects. |
