Mountain Def. A natural elevation on the Earth's surface have considerable mass, generally steep sides and a height greater than that of a hill
Plateaus Def. A raised area of relatively level land.
Hills Def. A well-defined natural elevation smaller than a mountain.
Plains. Def. A large flat area of land that usually does not have many trees and a small change in elevation.
Valley Def. Lowland between two high areas
Peninsula Def. A body of land surrounded by water on three sides.
Cape Def. Land that forms a point in the water.
Archipelago Def. A Group of islands.
Island Def. A body of land surrounded by water on all sides.
Tributary Def. A stream that flows into a larger stream or body of water.
Delta Def. A triangular deposit of soil at the mouth of a river
Bay Def. A body of water partially enclosed by land but with a wide mouth, affording access to a larger body of water.
Gulf Def. Portion of a sea/ocean partially enclosed by land
Sea. Def. Small body of saltwater
Ocean Def. Large body of saltwater
Desert Def. A barren or desolate area with little precipitation.
Strait. Def A narrow channel joining two larger bodies of water
Canal Def. An artificial waterway or artificially improved river used for travel, shipping, or irrigation.
Isthmus Def. A narrow strip of land connecting two larger masses of land with water on both sides of the strip
Mouth of River Def. End of a river
Source of a River Def. The beginning of a river
Physical Geography Def. The study of the Earth's land
Cultural Geography Def. The study of the Earth's people
