QuestionsAnswers
Speed is .... The distance travelled in a certain time.
The formula for speed is Distance / Time
the axis in a distance speed graph are... Time on the x axis and Distance up the y axis.
Speed can be calculated by calculating the gradient of the graph horitontal / vertical
In a distance speed graph the flat sections are .... where the object is stopped
In a distance time graph the steeper the slope... the faster the object is going
In a distance time graph the downhill section means.. the objct is coming back towards you.
When talking about distance time graphs distances can be.... positive or negative.
Speed is just a number but.. velocity has direction too
in a velocity time graph gradient represents.... acceleration
in a velocity time graph flat sections represent... constant speed
in a velocity time graph the steeper the slope... The greater the acceleration
In a velocity time graph uphill sections indicate... acceleration
in a velocity time graph downhill sections indicate.. deceleration
in a velocity time graph the area under the graph is equal to... the distance travelled in that time interval.
Forces occur when...... two objects interact
If you push against a wall, the wall... pushes back
Moving objects normally.... experience Friction
Resultant force is... the overall force acting on an object.
The formula for Momentum is mass x velocity
The formula for change of momentum is.. Resultant force x time for which the force acts
change in energy is the same as.. Work done
The formula for work done is Force x Distance
The formula for kinetic energy is half x mass x velocity squared
The formula for change in gravitational potential energy is Weight x change in height

Use these flashcards to help memorize information. Look at the large card and try to recall what is on the other side. Then click the card to flip it. If you knew the answer, click the green Know box. Otherwise, click the red Don't know box.

When you've placed seven or more cards in the Don't know box, click "retry" to try those cards again.

If you've accidentally put the card in the wrong box, just click on the card to take it out of the box.

You can also use your keyboard to move the cards as follows:

If you are logged in to your account, this website will remember which cards you know and don't know so that they are in the same box the next time you log in.

When you need a break, try one of the other activities listed below the flashcards like Matching, Snowman, or Hungry Bug. Although it may feel like you're playing a game, your brain is still making more connections with the information to help you out.

To see how well you know the information, try the Quiz or Test activity.
