TermDefinition
1.Geography is the study of where people,places,and things are located and how they relate to each other.
2.GIS uses computer technology to collect,manipulate, analyze,and display data about the earth's surface in order to solve geographic problems.
3.Absolute Location its position in the globe.

5.Relative Location its relation compared to other places
6.character of a place consists of the place's physical characteristics and human characteristics.
7.formal regions are areas in which certain characteristics are found throughout the area.
8.functional regions consist of a central place and the surrounding places affected by it.
9.perceptual regions are defined by people's feelings and attitudes about areas.
10.core The earth's center, consisting of very hot metal that is dense and solid in the inner core and molten, or liquid, in the outer core
11.mantle a thick layer of mostly solid rock beneath the earth' crust that surrounds the earth' core.
12.crust The solid, rocky, surface layer of the earth.
13.lithosphere the surface features of the earth, including soil, rocks, and land forms.
14.atmosphere the layer of gases, water vapor, and othe substances above the earth.
15.hdrosphere the water contained in oceans, lakes, rives, and under the ground.
16.biospere The world of plants, animals, and other living things in earth's land and waters
17.continents Any of the seven large landmasses of the earth's surface: Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia,Europe, North America, and South America.
18.relief the differences in elevation, or height, of the land forms in any particular area.
