character of a place the physical and human chararistcs that help distinguish aa place from other places.
perception a veiwpoint from which ones experiences are veiwed from cultural experiences
formal region a group of places that have similiar attributes for example political region
functional regional a group of places connected by movement for example a region drained by the amazon and its tributaries
perceptual region a group of places defined by its feelings and attributes
core center of the earth
crust what we live on the thinnest part
lithosphere landforms and surface features
atmosphere the layer of gasses and substances above the earth
hydrosphere the water contained in the earth and on the earth
biosphere the earth of plants animals an living things
relief differences in elevation in an area
continent is the big landforms in the cean... a total of seven
weathering is the breakdpwn of rock at the earths service into smaller and smaller pieces
mechanical weathering occurs when rock is actually broken or weakened physically
chemical weathering alters a rocks chemical makeup by changing its minerals by combining them with new combinations
axid rain chemicals polluted in the air combine with water vapor and rain down to earth
erosion movement of weathered materials such as gravel soil and sand
sediment small partices of soil sand andgravel
loess fine grained mineral rich loam dust or silt deposited by the wind
glacier a huge slow moving mass of snow and ice
moraine a ridgelike mass of of rock gravel sand and claye carried and deposited by a glacier
