Political OrganizationDefinition
LEBANON officially the Republic of Lebanon or Lebanese Republic is a small, predominantly mountainous country in Western Asia, on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea
MACKINDER, HALFORD J. Sir Halford John Mackinder PC (February 15, 1861 – March 6, 1947), was an English geographer and geopolitician.
MANIFEST DESTINY the belief that the United States was destined to expand from the Atlantic seaboard to the Pacific Ocean; it has also been used to advocate for or justify other territorial acquisitions.
Median line principle The "median line principle" is an approach to dividing and creating boundaries at the mid-point between two places.
MICROSTATE is a sovereign state having a very small population or very little land area – usually both.
MINISTATE a small, independent nation
NATION is a form of self-defined cultural and social community.
NATIONAL ICONOGRAPHY national iconography is the branch of art history which studies the identification, description, and the interpretation of the content of images.
NATION-STATE is a specific form of state, which exists to provide a sovereign territory for a particular nation, and which derives its legitimacy from that function.
NUNAVUT is the largest and newest territory of Canada; it was separated officially from the Northwest Territories on April 1, 1999 via the Nunavut Act[4] and the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement Act.
RAISON D'ETRE is a phrase borrowed from French where it means simply "reason for being"; in English use it also comes to suggest a degree of rationalization, as "The claimed reason for the existence of something or someone".
REAPPORTIONMENT the act of redistributing or changing the apportionment of something
REGIONALISM is a political ideology that focuses on the interests of a particular region or group of regions, whether traditional or formal (administrative divisions, country subdivisions, political divisions, subnational units).

REUNIFICATION To cause (a group, party, state, or sect) to become unified again after being divided
SATELLITE STATE is a political term that refers to a country which is formally independent, but under heavy influence or control by another country.
SELF-DETERMINATION is a principle, often seen as a moral and legal right, that "all peoples have the right [to] freely determine their political status and freely pursue their economic, social and cultural development."

SOVEREIGNTY is the exclusive right to have complete control over an area of governance, people, or oneself. A sovereign is the supreme lawmaking authority, subject to no other.
STATE A state is a political association with effective sovereignty over a geographic area. These may be nation states or sub-national states.
