half life life is the length of time it takes for ½ (half) of the mass of a radioactive element (parent material) to change into a new stable (non-radioactive) element (daughter product).
relative dating places orders in sequence without assigning an exact age.
superpostion the oldest rock layers are on the bottom and the layers above are younger with the top layer being the youngest. Fossils contained in lower layers are older than fossils found in layers above them.
how can climate be changed? by volcanism that place ash and smoke form forest fires that may cause short term effects blocking sunlight and reduction in temperature
what do relative dating and absolute dating do? can be used to determine ages of rocks and structures
index fossils are fossils of plants or animals that were abundant, widespread and were lived on this Earth a relatively short period of time (small range of age) before they went extinct
