TermDefinition
Forword is an introductory not, essay, or chpter in a book that is often written by somebody other than the author.
Prologue is an introductory passage or speech before the main action of a novel, paly, or long poem; a preliminary event that leads to something more important.
Sidebars provisde supplementary information htat is printed alongside a featured story or text.
Introduction is the explanatory section at the beginning fo a piece of writting that sets the scence, introduces the subject, or summarizes the main idea of the writing.

afterword is the end section or short concluding section added at the end of a literary work, which may be either an epilogue.
Bibliography is a list of books or articles that were consulted or that are about particular subject; the bibliography appears a t hte end of a book or other text.
Footnote is an additional detail or comment that is added at the bottom of a page to give further information about something mentioned in the text above.
Text strucutes are the organizational structures used within paragraphs or within texts, appropriate to the writting genre and purpose.
Chronological or sequential order the order in which events occur in time. the author's purpose in using chronological order is to narrate, to explain a process, or to show how events are related in time.
Order of importance the method of organizing ideas according to their importance. This organization is often used in expostition, persuasion, and descripition.
Spatial order the arrangement of thing in space.
Commparison or Contrast THe method of organizing information based on similarities or differences. This organization is used in all types of writting to suit a variety of purposes.
Cause and Effect The organization method that demostrates that one event leads to another. it shows a causal relationship .
Problem and Solution The organization of writing in which the writer descibes a problem and then describes proposed soultions.
Order of Famillarity The method of organization that begins with the most familiar facts and moves to less familiar ones.
General to Specific The method of organization that begins with a geral statement and moves toward more specific details.
To Inform to give knowledge or provide information about the subject.
To explain to make clear or give details about something; to clarify the meaning or provide justification.
To Describe tell or depict in words; to give an account of something by providing details of it characteristics.
To Summarize to state or express something in a shortended form.
