Order highly ordered structure that typifies life. Living cells are the basis.
Reproduction Organisms reproduce their own kind.
Growth and development Inherited information in the form of DNA.

Natural selection Gets rid of things that don't work, they die off or don't reproduce.
Scientific method Process by which science is conducted, i.e. make observation, formulate hypothesis, make predictions, experimentation, draw conclusions.
Scientific law Describes some well observed phenomenon, but doesn't explain why.
Making observations From direct observations in nature, reading scientific papers.
Hypothesis Must be testable and falsifiable, can be disproved, not proved.
Cell The smallest unit of life.
Independent variable Factor in an experiment that is altered, factor that will affect subjects, scientist can manipulate.
