A student decides to sell lemonade at her school. She knows she will sell 90 glasses of lemonade each day. Each glass will cost her 30 cents to make. What is the minimum price she should charge per glass if she hopes to make $45 profit each day? 50 cent for 90 glass would give her $45 profit, but it cost her 30 cent to make. So (50)(30) = 80 cent

3x+12/6 = (pie) Divide the top and bottom of the left by 3 to give (x + 4)/2. Next, multiply each side of the equation by 2 to get: x + 4 = 2(pie) . Finally, subtract 4 from each side to get x = 2(pie) - 4.
Joan buys a CD at 25% off. Mary buys the same CD at full price. If Mary paid four dollars more than Joan, what is the regular price of the CD? Joan saves $4.00 by buying the CD at 25% off. That means that $4.00 is 25 % of the full cost of the CD, which must be $16.00.
x > 5 A -- 5-x B -- -1 Is A or B greater? Since x > 5, all we know is that 5-x is less than zero. We don't know how it compares to -1.
6x+7/x What is the value of x? If you spot the trick you can avoid tedious math. Since 7 will be added to 6x, when x = 7, the numerator is guaranteed to be divisible by 7.
