Contiguous Files (or text) located next to each other in a folder (or document)
Purge To clear out, delete, or erase completely
Operating System Software that supports a computer's basic functions, such as printing
WYSIWYG Used to describe a system in which content (text and graphics) displayed onscreen looks the same as it does when it is printed or displayed as a finished product.
Style Set A group of frequently used styles formatted so they look pleasing when used together
Backstage View The File tab of the Ribbon, which provides access to file level options and program settings
Contextual Tab A Ribbon tab that contains commands related to the selected object so you can manipulate, edit, and format that object
Theme Controls a variety of colors fonts and other visual effects available
Gallery A menu or grid that shows a visual representation of the options available when you click a button
Slide Master The key benefit of using this feature of a presentation program allows for universal style changes to all parts of the presentation
SmartArt A visual representation of information--the 2 parts to SmartArt are the graphic and the text pane
Animation Movement on a slide--should be used sparingly
Transition Movement between slides in a presentation
Cell The intersection of a row and column
Notes Pane Use this to add reminders, talking points, or other pieces of information not shown on the slides to help during your presentation
File Extension A group of letters occurring after a period in a file name, indicating the purpose or contents of the file
Ribbon Appears at the top of every Word document and is the command center for Word
Word Wrap When the computer runs out of room at the right margin and text automatically continues to the next line
Preview Pane Shows what a selected file looks like without opening the file
Pin When you add programs to the left side of the Start Button
Network A collection of computers and devices connected together for the purpose of sharing information between users
Format Painter This tool allows you to copy all formatting changes from one object to another
Snipping Tool This tool allows you to capture a picture of part of the screen
AutoCorrect When Word automatically corrects minor spelling errors and capitalization as you key text
Outline Tab Other than the Slide pane, this is the other place you can enter text on a slide
