Regression Equation Y=a+bx+c
Residuals The vertical distance between a data point and the graph of a regression equation.
Best Fit Line Shows whether two variables appear to be correlated
Correlation Coefficient A number between −1 and +1 calculated so as to represent the linear dependence of two variables or sets of data.
Interpolate Insert (something) between fixed points.
Linear Function A mathematical equation in which no independent-variable is raised to a power greater than one.
Regression A statistical measure that attempts to determine the strength of the relationship between one dependent variable (usually denoted by Y) and a series of other changing variables (known as independent variables).
Y-Intercept The point at which the line crosses the y axis.
Slope The measure of the steepness of a line.
Extrapolate An estimation of a value based on extending a known sequence of values or facts beyond the area that is certainly known
