Pictograph a graph that displays data using symbols or pictures
Bar graph a graph that uses horizontal or veritcal bars to display data
Double bar graph a bar graph used to compare two kinds of data
Line graph a graph that uses line segments to show how data changes over time
Circle/Pie graph a graph that shows how parts of the data are related to the whole and to each other.
Scale The horizontal scale across the bottom and the vertical scale along the side of a graph tell us how much or how many
Key a table that explains the meaning of the symbols or pictures
Interval the distance between one number and the next on the scale of the graph
Ordered pair a pair of numbers used to locate a point on a grid
X axis the horizontal number line on a coordinate grid
Y axis the vertical number line on a coordinate grid
Survey a method of collecting data
Sample part of a population
Population the entire group of objects or individuals considered in a survey
Outlier the value (number) separated from the rest of the data
Frequency table shows the total number for each category taken from a tally chart
Median the middle number in a set of data that have been arranged in order from least to greatest
Mode the most repeated number or item in a set of data
Range the difference between the greatest number and the least number in a set of data
Line Plot a graph that shows the frequency of data along a number line
