How do sea caves form? They form when waves cut holes into weak rock at the bottom of sea cliffs
How do sea arches form? They form when waves cut through part of a rock body
Sea Stacks Columns of rock that are seperate from the rest of the shore
Headlands Finger-Shaped bodies of rock that stick out into the sea
Wave Frequency number of waves to go by a point in a certain time
Beach Any area of shoreline that is made of material deposited by waves
What are wave-cut terraces? A nearly flat platform beneath the water at the base of the cliff
How do Wave-Cut terraces form? They form when sea cliffs are worn back from the shore
How do longshore currents form? They form when waves hit the shore at an angle
What is a sandbar? A ridge of sand,gravel, or broken shells that is found in open water
What is a barrier spit? A sandbar that sticks up above the water and is connected to the shoreline
What is a barrier island? A long narrow island that forms parallel to the shoreline.
What is a the crest? The top of a wave
What is the trough? The bottom of a wave
What is the wave height? The distance between the crest and the trough
What is the wave length? The distance between one crest and another
