| circuitous | roundabout, not direct. The circuitous routs is always longer than the straight line. |
| commiserate | to sympathize with. We could easily commiserate with the family thta lost their cat. |

| seditious | reisistant to lawful authority, or having the purpsoe of overthrowing the government |
| tenuous | thin, slender, poorly supported. A one-goal lead is very tenuous in the final minutes |
| vitriolic | bitter, sarcastic, highly caustic. The coach made a vitriolic speech to the team after the last second loss |
| wheedle | to use coaxing or flattery to gain a desired end. The coach wheedled with the ref all game in hopes of getting a call. |
