Kingdom The 5 groups that scientist classify living things.
What are the 5 Kingdoms? Animals, Plants, Protists, Fungi, Monerans
Characters used to classify living things? Physical Structure & Makeup, means to obtaining food and means of reproduction.
How to fungi differ from green plants? Fungi lacks chlorophyll, which means it must obtain food from an outside source.
Examples of Animals: Turtle, horses, humans
Examples of Fungi: Yeast and mushrooms
Examples of Plants: Flowers and trees
Examples of Protist: Algae and Protozoa
Examples of Monerans: Bacteria and blue/green algae
What is a Tissue? group of cells with similar functions
What are the 4 main types of Plant Tissues? Connective, Storage, Epidermal and Support
What are the 4 different plant parts? Flower, Stem, Leaves and Root
What are the vegetative parts of a plant? Roots, Steam and leaves
What are the reproductive parts of a plant? Flowers, Fruits and Seed
What are the 2 types of seed bearing plants? Angiosperms and gymniosperms
What is a seed bearing "flowering" plant? Angiosperm
What is a seed bearing "cone bearing" plant? Gymniosperm
What are the 4 stages of a seed bearing plant? Beginning Stage, Growth Stage, Adult Stage and Death Stage
Where the sperm cell and egg cell join? Fertilization during the beginning stage.
What is Mitosis? Process in which fertilized egg divides until it produces a seed.
Stage where Mitosis happens and a seed is formed, also leaves are formed. Growth stage
Stage where plant makes many egg cells and it ready to reproduce Adult stage
Stage where plant is in old age and final changes happen Death Stage
What is the main purpose of the flower in a flowering plant? To accomplish Reproduction!
