equilateral triangle | triangle with all equal sides |
straight angle | an angle with 180° |
degrees | a unit of measurement |
right angle | an angle of 90° |
ray | a line from a point that goes on forever in one direction from that point |
acute angle | an angle of less than 90° |
vertex | the intersection of two sides of a plane figure to form an angle |
isosceles triangle | a triangle with two equal sides |
obtuse angle | an angle greater than 90° but less than 180° |
scalene triangle | a triangle with no equal sides |
parallelogram | a quadrilateral having both pairs of opposite sides parallel to each other |
rotation symmetry | when you rotate (or turn) a figure around a center point by fewer than 360° |
reflection symmetry | two halves that are mirror-images of each other |
regular polygon | a polygon which all angles are congruent and all sides have the same length |
irregular polygon | have sides of differing lengths and angles of differing measure |
parallel lines | are lines that never intersect |
transversal | a line that passes through two or more lines |
tiling | laying down shapes in a pattern |
square | a rectangle having all four sides of equal length |
rectangle | A parallelogram with four right angles. |
line | a straight figure that is 180° and goes on forever |

line segment | a line that has two end points |
