DENMARK: Change in the role of state in Denmark? The Danish government went from weak to strong, gradually with the development of the welfare state.

Industrial growth under protective restrictions, 1933-56 4. Export orientation and expanding welfare state, 1957-81 5. The global division of labour, 1982-2007
DENMARK: When was free trade put as a goal? 1857, this is related to the abolishment of sound dues.
DENMARK: When does the urbanization take place? 1890-1900, there is a big leap in the population employed in industry and it almost doubles on a country wide basis.

DENMARK: How did the entrepreneurs learn? They learned by going to more industrially advanced countries, and by Imitation, in Schumpeter's optics.
DENMARK: How did the decreasing grain prices effect the market in the 1870's? This forced farmers to change from grains to livestock. Which then later let to the cooperative movement, the first one was formed in 1882.
DENMARK: explain the history of the Lur-brand First a private initiative, then later later owned by the government, form 1911 to 1991.
DENMARK: Liberal state with Bazar market, to a stronger state in up through 20th century Sweet
DENMARK: Examples of Danish state intervention, and taking over of private companies. 1. DSB, started as private initiatives, till 1867 2. Lur pak - started in 1906, taken over in 1911 3. TDC - started by Tietgen in 1879, taken over in 1897
DENMARK: What was the role of Rode? Rode was a strong proponent of government intervention, and wanted the government to play a central role in business life. By his opponents he was seen as over controlling.
DENMARK: Role of teknologisk institut: The primary role was to help support SME's by doing research and thereby helping the competitiveness of Denmark.
DENMARK: The influence of Valuta centralen First made in 1932, as a two month thing, this continued until 1960, where it was replaced with the highest import tax since 1797.
DENMARK: what are the three main parts of Kanslergade forliget? 1. Helping the agricultural sector, by changing taxation 2. Legal action avoiding a 20% salary reduction demand from employers 3. Promise by Venstre not to oppose social reform.
What did Keynes do? Published a book describing how to control a demand driven economy.
DENMARK: In 1933, what sectors did the government play a larger role in thereafter? three important areas; the labour market, the financial sector and agricultural matters
