integers | Positive whole numbers, their opposites and zeros |

key | A sample data point used to explain the stems and leaves in a stem-and-leaf plot |

line graph | is used to show how a set of data changes over a period of time |

line plot | is a diagram that shows the frequency of data on a number line. |

mean | of set of data is the sum of the data divided by the number of pieces of data. |

measures of central tendency | Numbers that are used to describe the center of a set of data. these measures include the mean median and mode |

median | is the middle number of the ordered data when there are an odd number of data |

negative numbers | A number that is less than zero |

opposites | are numbers that are the same distance from zero in opposite directions |

outlier | values that are much higher or lower than others in a data set. |

positive numbers | A number that is greater than zero |

range | a set of data is the difference between the greatest and the least values of the set. |

stem and leaf plot | the data are ordered from least to greatest and organized by place value. |

vertical axis | it includes the least number and the greatest number |

mode | The mode is the middle number or numbers of that occur most often |
