| ointment | a drug with a oil base resulting in a simisolid prep are applied externally to the skin and are usually greasy |
| suppository | a drug mixed with a firm base, such as coco butter that is designed to melt at body temp. is shaped into a sylinder to cone for easy inserton |
| transdermal patch | a patch with an adhesive backing with contains a drug that is applied to the skin the drug enters the circlation after being absorbed through the skin |
