ch 1. Who is the main character?	Tess
Where does Tess live and what makes her sad?	She lives on a small island called Bethsaida and her best friend,Amy Hamilton moved and she's very sad.
Whom is coming to join Tess's family?	Aaron, a thirteen year old boy who used to live in foster care.
How is Aaron getting to the island?	He is taking a ferry with Tess's dad.
Ch 2. Who does Tess despise?	Eben Calder
Why does she not like him?	Because he picks on her and tries to outdo her at everything.
Why are they adopting him?	Because the school needs more people because Amy moved and the school lost some people. people. If they didn't get enough people the school would close. If the school closes,Tess's mom would lose her job and then they would have to move to the mainland.
Why is Aaron a foster child?	Since his mom didn't take care of him that well the state took him away from him. Then he lived with his grandma for six years but then she died.
How does Aaron look like?	He is skinny has red hair, and has green eyes.
Ch 3.What instruments does Aaron play?	He plays the trumpet and the piano but he doesn't like to play for other people.
What made made Aaron curious?	That everyone on the island knew him.
Why does each lobsterman paint their own buoys a different color?	So that each fisherman knows which trap is theirs.
Ch 4. What special events does Bethsaida take place?	The summer talent show and the Christmas Party.
What makes Aaron a little surprised with?	That he will be in the same class as kindergartners even though he won't be doing the same work as them.
What does Aron eat?	He drinks a half sized can of cola and a whoopie pie.
What made Aaron pause?	Swells of organ music coming out of the church.
what makes Tess sad?	When she was talking to Aaron while he was listening to the music and he told Tess to shut up for a minute.

What does dad do to keep the copycats away from his traps and what are copycats?	Copycats are one of those people that follow around the best sailors and set traps behind their boats. Tess's dad and Uncle Ned set a decoy or the new traps which actually have cement blocks at the end instead of a trap.
Ch 7. Did anyone ask the Calder family to adopt a child?	NO
What were Tess' dad and uncle Ned doing	They were teasing each other for fun
What surprised Tess?	That Aaron wanted to come fishing with them.
Ch8: How was the behavior of the lobster's towards Tess and Aaron?	Aaron's lobster just opened it's claws when he put on the rubber band. Tess' grabbed the band and thrashed wildly.
Who comes behind Tess' boat?	Eben and his dad.
What happens after that	Aaron throws up over the rail
Ch9:What action of Aaron took Tess by surprise?	Aaron asked Tess if she needed any help scraping the skiff?
What was Aaron's favorite pastime?	Playing his trumpet in his room.
What did Tess and Mrs. Varney agree on?	Letting Aaron perform on the 4th of July picnic.
Ch10:What does Mrs.Coombs tell Aaron to do?	She tells him to come over for supper to tell Aaron what to play on his trumpet for the Fourth of July summer picnic.
Why is the island called Dead Man's Island?	Since it is about a shipwrecked sailor washed up.
What comment does Aaron have for that?	That his grandma drowned too. But she drowned in a room full of air. She drowned since her lungs got filled with fluid. She also died because of cancer.
Ch11:What is Aaron's reaction to playing to the people?	He is not looking forward to it because he doesn't like other people's favorite song and since he doesn't knoe=w half of them.
How did Aaron learn to play the piano?	His grand mother taught him how to play the piano.
What did Aaron and Tess do?	They wore different clothes and Aaron played the piano and Tess or Lola ( her fake name) sang the song.
Ch12: What did Aaron do before his last song?	For some reason he stopped,shut the song book and walked away.
Ch13:What did Eben Write in Aaron's song book?	Go home!Oops,you can't.Right,orphan?
What does Aaron do since he is so angry?	He scrapes wood off the skiff and also slams the scraper so hard into it that the scraper stayed their upright.
Ch14:What does Tess see in Aaron's room?	Nothing,not Aaron,not his suitcase and his photos.
What does Libby think af what Aaron thinks of her?	She thinks that Aaron Hates her.
Ch15: Where did Tess find Aaron and why?	Next to the ferry landing on the beach so he can wait for the ferry to go home.
What did Aaron say When Tess told hi about the talent show.	He says I a not playing for anyone.
What does Libby do to change his mind?	She says that she can write a letter to his mom so she can come watch hi play. This is possible because it is open for everyone and nobody knows how Aaron's mom looks like but Aaron.
Ch16: What does Tess wrote at the botto of her letter?	please come.
Ch17:What does Aron want to do?	He wants to play monopoly with Tess and Libby.
What does the letter for Tess say?	I'll try.
Ch18: What did Aaron do one day since his mom might come?	He one day was sliding across the kitchen floor with his socks on when he thought that nobody was watching him do it.
What does Aaron thinks he know will happen?	He thinks his mom WILL come, not try to come.
What does Lubby find out?	That Aaron's mom is coming.
Ch19:Who does Libby tell and when?	She tells Grace when they were disscussing about who was coming to the talent show.
Why did Eben's dog run away?	Because Libby and Grace chased him.
Ch20: What does Tess catch?	A rare blue lobster.
When they arrive to the wharf what does Tess see?	A whole bunch of people were waiting to see the blue lobster.
Ch22: Who came while Aaron was playing the piano.	His mom.
Ch 23: What mistake does Libby make?	She tells everyone that Aaron's mom is here.
What does Tess and her dad hear while he was talking to Tess?	Aaron playing his trumpet.
Ch 25: What did Aaron do after his mom left?	He didn't leave his room for a day.
Does Aaron want to move?	No but he could.
CH 26: What does Tess let Aaron do?	He lets him set the blue lobster free.
What does Dad let Tess do?	Drive the boat.
