Properties of addition

Associative Property of Addition Grouping the addends does not change the sum.
estimate To find an answer that is close to the exact answer.
decimal point The symbol that goes before the amount of cents.
Commutative Property of Addition The order in which the numbers are added does not change the sum.
dollar sign $ The symbol that goes before the sum of dollars.
Identity Property of Addition The sum of any number and zero is the number.
sum The answer to an addition problem.
front-end estimation When you add only the front digits of a number
regroup To rename a number using place value. (to borrow )
Cent sign The symbol that goes after the sum of cents.
