Terms Definitions
HypothesisA mere assumption or guess.
ProcedureStep by step process or instructions to be followed in solving a problem or accomplishing a task.
PropertiesUnique characteristics attributed to a particular object
VolumeHow much space an object occupies. The units of measurement are Liters, (l) Milliters, (ml) or Cubic centimeters (cm3).
Massthe amount of matter in an object.
DensityThe amount of matter in a given volume. Density is calculated by dividing the mass by the volume.
MatterThe substance or substances of which any physical object consists or is composed.
InferenceA conclusion based on an observation.
ObservationGathering information by using one or more of your senses.
Conclusionthe end or close; final part, usually containing a summing up of the points and a statement of opinion or decisions reached.
