Angle | A figure formed by two line segments or rays that share the same endpoint |
Circle | A closed figure made up of points the same distance from the center |
Ray | A part of a line; it has one endpoint and continues without end in one direction |
Line Symmetry | What a figure has if it can be folded about a line and form two parts that match exactly |
Rotational Symmetry | What a figure has if it can be turned around a central point and still look the same in at least two positions |
Congruent | Having the same size and shape |
Similar | Having the same shape but maybe a different size |
Transformation | A movement of a figure by a translation, reflection, or rotation |
Translation | A movement of a figure to a new position along a straight line |
Reflection | A movement of a figure to a new position by flipping it over a line |
Rotation | A movement of a figure to a new position by turning it around a point |
tessellation | A repeating pattern of closed figures that cover a surface with no gaps or no overlaps |
