correlation  the linesr dependence between two variables  model  a pattern plan representation or description desgined to show the structure or workings of an object system or concept 
statistics  the collection and classification of data that are in the form of numbers  conceptual model  a verbal or graphical explanation for how a sysetm works or is organized 
observation  the process of obtaining information by using the senses  mathematical model  one or more equations that represents the way a system of process works 
hypothesis  a testable idea or explantaion that leads to scientific investigation  value  a principle or standard that an individual considers to be important
