Autotroph	Organisms that use sunlight or chemical energy to make their own food.
photosynthesis	The process of using light energy to make chemical energy in the formm of organic compounds, primarily carbohydrates.
heterotroph	An organism that must get its energy from food made by autotrophs
chloroplast	The organelle that contains thylakoids and is responsible for photosynthesis.
thylakoid	A membranous sac where photosynthetic reactions take place.
granum	A stack of thylakoids
stroma	The jelly-like fluid within a chloroplast where the Calvin cycle takes place.
pigment	A protein capable of absorbing light to produce energy.
