Question | Answer |
Fractions | A fraction is a symbol, such as 2/5, 1/5, 8/5, used to name a part of a whole, part of a set, a location on a number line, or a division of a whole number. |
Denominator | The number below the fraction bar in a fraction; The total number of equal parts. |
Numerator | The number above the fraction bar in a fraction. |
Equivalent Fractions | Fractions that name the same region, part of a set, or part of a segment. |
Area Model | The number of square units needed to cover the region. |
Hexagon | A polygon with six sides |
Trapezoid | A quadrilateral with only one pair of parallel sides |
Rhombus | A quadrilateral in which opposite sides are parallel and all sides are the same length. |
Triangle | A polygon with 3 sides |
Linear Model | Relating to a line. |
Set Model | A collection of items between brackets {OOOOO}. |
Subsets | The relationship of one set to another. Example: A is a subset of B and conversely B is a superset of A |
