Ray | a straight line extending on in one direction forever |
Line segment | o portion of a line that has two end points. |
Line | a line that gose on forever in both directions |
Parallel Lines | two lines on the same plane that will never intersect |
congruent segments | angles with the same measures |
Perpendicular | two lines intersecting to form a right angle |
plane | a flat surface that extends forever |
collinear | points that lie on the same line |
coplanar | points and lines that lie on the same plane |
intersection lines | lines that meet at a point |
Angle | The figure formed by two lines diverging from a common point. |
vertex | The point at which the sides of an angle intersect |
acute angle | an angle less then 90° |
straight angle | an angle of 180° |
obtuse angle | an angle less then 180° but greater than 90° |
complementary angles | the sum of two angles put together is 90° |
congruent angles | angles with the smae measures |
vertical angles | Either of two angles formed by two intersecting lines and lying on opposite sides of the point of intersection. |
Adjacent angles | complementary angles share a common side and vertex. the sum of the two angles measures is 90° |
tranaversal | A line that intersects a system of other lines. |
