Question | Answer |
Power | A number that can be expressed by using an exponent |
Exponent | In a power, the number of times the base is used as a factor |
Factor | A number that divides into a whole number with a remainder of zero |
Symbol | A letter, numeral or mark which represents something |
Variable | A symbol, usually a letter, used to represent a number. |
Quotient | The answer to a division problem |
Product | The answer to a multiplication problem |
Square Root | A number that, when multiplied by itself, produces the given number. An inverse operation of squaring a number |
X-Axis | Horizontal line in a coordinate plane |
Y-Axis | Vertical line in a coordinate plane |
Absolute Value | The distance the number is from zero on the number line |
Integer | Whole numbers and their opposites |
Negative Power | A number less than zero |
Ordered Pair | Pair of numbers used to locate a point in the coordinate |
Origin | The point of intersection of X-axis and Y-axis |
X-Coordinate | The first number of an ordered pair |
Y-Coordinate | The second number of an ordered pair |
