Term | Definition |
Power | A number multiplied by itself. |
Base | The number that is going to be raised to a power. |
Exponent | The number that states how many times to multiply the base. |
Exponential Form | A number or expression written with an exponent. |
Square Root | A number that when multiplied by itself gives the original number or area of a square; length of a side of a square |
Cube Root | A number that when multiplied by three times itself gives the original number or volume of a cube; length of a side of a cube. |
Repeating Decimal | Has one or more digits following the decimal point that repeat endlessly. |
Terminating Decimal | Has a finite or limited number of digits following the decimal point. |
Rational Numbers | Real numbers that can be written as a ratio or fraction. |
Irrational Numbers | Real numbers that cannot be written as a ratio or fraction. |
