Term | Definition |
Triangle | Polygon with 3 sides, 3 angles, and 3 vertices. |
Equilateral Triangle | All 3 sides are congruent. |
Scalene Triangle | None of the 3 sides are congruent. |
Isosceles Triangle | At least 2 sides are congruent. |
Equiangular Angles | All 3 angles are congruent. |
Right Angle | One right angle(90 degrees) |
Acute Angle | All angles are acute(less than 90 degrees) |
Obtuse Angle | One obtuse angle(more than 90 degrees) |
Point | a geometric object that has no dimensions, only a location. |
Plane | Flat surface that extends endlessly in all directions; Two dimensional. |
Space | The set of all points; 3 dimensional. |
Line | A set of points along a straight path having no endpoints. |
Line Segment | Part of a line that has two endpoints. |
Ray | Part of a line hat has only 1 endpoint. |
Angle | Two rays joined with a common endpoint; the two rays are called the sides of an angle. |
Vertex | The common endpoint of an angle. |
Intersecting lines | Lines that have just one point in common. |
Parallel lines | Lines that never intersect. |
Perpendicular lines | Lines that intersect and form right angles. |
Skew lines | Lines that are not in the same plane and do not intersect. |
Degrees | A unit of measure of an angle; measured with a protractor. |
