Term | Definition |
Algebra | a language of symbols including variables. |
Variables | is a symbol, usually a letter, used to represent a number. |
Expressions | contain at least one variable and at least one (1) operation. |
Evaluate | find the value, solve. |
Equation | mathematical sentence showing two (2) expressions are equal and contain an equal sign (=). |
Constant | a number representing a fixed value. A term with out a variable. |
Term | when addition or subtraction signs separate an algebraic expression into parts. |
Like Terms | term that contain the same variable. |
Coefficient | a number that contain a variable. |
Solution | any value that make an equation or inequality true when substituted for the unknown. |
Inequality | a mathematical sentence that indicate that two (2) quantities may or may not be equal. Example: 6 + x > 13. |
