Question | Answer |
Ray | A part of a line that has one fixed end point and extends infinitely along the line from the end point. |
Angle | A figure formed by two rays. |
Vertex | A point where two or more lines come together. |
Acute angle | An angle less than 90 degrees |
Right angle | An angle equal to 90 degrees |
Obtuse angle | An angle greater than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees |
Straight angle | An angle that equals 180 degrees |
Supplementary angle | Two angles that total 180 degrees. |
Complementary angle | Two angles that total 90 degrees. |
Adjacent angles | Two angles that share the same vertex, but do not have any other relationship. |
Vertical angles | A pair of angles opposite intersection lines. Vertical angles are equal to each other. |
Equilateral triangle | A triangle that has ALL sides the same length |
Isosceles triangle | A triangle that has EXACTLY two sides equal. |
Scalene triangle | A triangle in which ALL sides are NOT the same |
Acute triangle | A triangle with all three angles that are less than 90 degrees |
Right triangle | A triangle with a 90 degree angle |
Obtuse triangle | A triangle that has one angle more than 90 degrees |
