Term | Definition |
Complementary Event | two events in which either one or the other outcome must happen but they can not happen at the same time |
Compound Event | two or more events happening together |
Counting Principle | multiplying to find the possible number of outcomes |
Dependent Event | an event where results depend on eachother |
Experimental Probability | a probability created based off of experimental results |
Independent Event | an event where results do not depend on eachother |
Outcome | the result or how something ends up |
Permutation | an arrangement or listing of objects in which order is important |
Probability | the likeliness of an event |
Sample Space | a set of all possible outcomes in an event |
Simulation | an experiment created to model a scenario |
Simple Event | an event that consists of exactly one outcome |
Theoretical Probability | a probability created based off of theory |
Tree Diagram | a diagram used to find the number of possibilities for something |
Uniform Probability Model | a type of probability distribution were all outcomes are equally likely |
