class | quantitative or qualitative category that raw data is placed into |
frequency | number of data values that are contained in a particular class |
frequency distribution | organization of raw data in table form, using classes and frequency |
class width | distance between consecutive lower limits and consecutive upper limits -- found by subtracting the lower or upper limit (boundary) from the one above -- do not subtract the lower limit of one class from the upper limit of the same class |
class limits | span of values that can be put into specific categories. Nominal or Ordinal |
class boundaries | boundary of each class limit (Ex. class limit = 100-104, boundary = 99.5-104.5 |
midpoint formula | Xm = (lower limit + upper limit) / 2 |
