Term | Definition |
Direction | A position to which motion or another position is referred/ The line or course on which something is moving or is aimed to move along which something is pointing or facing. |
Motion | change in position |
Position | A condition with reference to place or. location |
Speed | Rate of change of an objects position. |
Balanced force | When the net force on an object is zero. There will be no change in the motion of an object. The object is either motionless or maintaining a constant speed. |
Force | A push or pull acting on an object. |
Friction | A force that opposes motion between two surfaces that are touching. |
Gravity | a traditionally defined, force of attraction between two objects, |
Inertia | Tendency of an object to resist a change in its motion. |
Magnetic Force | Force of attraction or repulsion exerted by a magnet. |
Unbalanced force | When the bet force on an object is greater than zero. There will be no change in motion of an object. A motionless object will begin to move, while an object already moving will change its speed and or direction |
Velocity | Speed in a given direction |
Constant Speed | Movement at a fixed (constant) distance per unit of time. The same amount of distance is covered by the object in thw same amount of time at each measurement of that same interval |
Distance | The degree or amount of separation between two points, lines, surfaces, or objects. |
Reference point | A place or object used for comparison to determine if an object is in motion |
Slope | The steepness of a line on a graph, equal to its vertical change divided by its horizontal change. |
Energy | The ability to do work. Energy is anything that can make matter move or change. |
Energy transformation | Changing from one form to another. |
