Prime Number | a number with only two factors (2,3,5,7,11,13,19...) |
Composite Numbers | a number with more than two factors |
mixed number | made up of a whole number and a fraction |
Divisible | able to be divided without a remainder, goes into easily |
Fraction | Made up of a part and a whole |
Numerator | the top number of the fraction, the part |
denominator | the bottom number in a fraction, the whole |
Improper fraction | When the numerator is larger than the denominator |
cross products | the answer you get when you multiply the denominator of one fraction with the numerator of another fraction |
Factors | the numbers in a multiplication problem |
Quotient | the answer in a division problem |
Digit | an individual number |
Place Value | gives worth and position of the digit |
product | the answer to a multiplication problem |
difference | the answer in a subtraction problem |
Sum | the answer in a addition problem |
lowest terms/ simplest form | when the two numbers in a fraction only have 1 as a common factor |
part | the top number in a fraction |
whole | the bottom number in a fraction |
decimal places | located to the right of the decimal |
infinite | goes on forever, without end |
multiples | the answer you get when you multiply that number by any other whole number |
GCF | greatest common factor, the largest factor two numbers have in common |
LCM | least common multiple, smallest multiple two numbers have in common |
lowest terms/ simplify | A fraction is in lowest terms when the only factor they have in common is 1 |
