The Industrial Reolution | A period in time when many new inventions helped productivity, creating new jobs |
Why Britan? | Britain had a large population, merchants, and materials |

Factories | Buildings that produce goods, powered by running water |

Steam engine | Used cole for fuel and made it possible for factories to be away from running water |

The middle class | The middle class was fairly wealthy and included people like farmers merchants and bankers |
The working class | The largest class comprised of people who came looking for a better job and had terrible conditions |
Life in industrial cities | The working-class people with a poorly built houses and has terrible living conditions while people the middle class had it better |
Unions | A group of workers join together to demand higher working conditions |
Strike | A way to demand higher working conditions where you quit your job until you get your way |
Karl Marx | German thinker who thought at all workers should have good treatment |
Socialism | Carl Marx's ideas which began to catch on in other countries |
