Term | Definition |
Point | An undefined term thought as a location with no size or dimension |
Line | An undefined straight, continuous arrangement of infintely many points extending forever in two directions. A line has length, but no width or thickness, so it is one-dimensional |
Plane | A flat surface that extends forever. It has infinite length and width but no thickness |
Line Segment | Two points and all the points between them that are collinear with the two points |
Collinear | Points that lie on the same line |
Coplanar | Points that lie on the same plane |
Ray | A point on a line, and all of the points of the line that lie on one side of the endpoint |
End points | The point at either end of a segment or the first point of a ray |
Oppsoite Rays | Collinear rays with the same endpoint |
Intersection | The set points that objects have in common |
Congruent | Objects that have the same measure |
Bisect | To divide into two congruent parts |
Midpoint | An object that intersects a segment into two congruent segments (bisector) |
Angle | An object formed by two rays with the same endpoint |
Vertex | The commom endpoint in an angle |
Angle Bisector | An object that divides an angle into two congruent angles |
Straight Angle | An angle with a measure of 180 degrees. (straight line) |
Obtuse Angle | An angle with a measure of 90 degrees and 180 degrees |
Right Angle | An angle with a measurement of 90 degrees |
Acute Angle | An angle with a measurement less than 90 degrees |
Complementary | Two angles whose sum is 90 degrees |
Supplementary | Two angles whose sum is 180 degrees |
Adjacent Angles | Angles that have a common side and a common vertex, but no common interior points |
