Hydrosphere | all the waters on the Earth's surface Examples: lakes, ponds, oceans, clouds, rivers, streams, glaciers, and groundwater |
Lithosphere | the rigid outer part of the Earth consisting of crust and upper mantle Example: ground, mountains, valleys, hills, soil |
Biosphere | the regions of the surface, atmosphere, and hydrosphere of the Earth occupied by living things |
Infrastructure | the basic physical and organizational structures and facilities needed for the operation of society or enterprise |
Elevation | height above a given level, especially sea level |
Ecosystem | a biological community of interacting organisms and their physical environment |
Language | the method of human communication, either spoken or written, consisting of the use of words in a structured and conventional way |
Weather | the state of the atmosphere with respect to wind, temperature, cloudiness, moisture, pressure, etc. |
Biomes | a large naturally occurring community of flora and fauna occupying a major habitat Example: Forest and Tundras |
Glaciers | a slowly moving mass or river of ice formed by the accumulation and compaction of snow on mountains or near the poles |
Groundwater | the water beneath the surface of the ground |
Soil | the portion of the Earth's surface consisting of disintegrated rock and humus |
