Natural: | All positive whole numbers, not including zero. |
Whole Numbers: | positive whole numbers including zero. This category does not include any negative whole numbers. |
integers: | Positive and negative whole numbers including zero. This category does not include any fractions or decimals. |
Rational: | A number that can be expressed as a ratio (fraction) of two numbers. This includes decimals thatterminate or repeat. |
Real: | A number that is rational or irrational. This is the highest set of numbers which includes all numbers. Don't worry, you will learn about imaginary numbers in Algebra II |
Irrational | A number that cannot be expressed as a ratio (fraction) of two numbers. This includes decimals that never stop or repeat |
