Normal range for adult pulse | 60-100 beats per minute |
Normal adult range for respiration: | 12-20 respirations per minute |
What is blood pressure: | The force at which blood is pumped against the wall of the arteries |
Brachial artery | Artery used for blood pressure measurements |
Instruments needed for checking BP: | Stethoscope and sphygmomanometer |
Systolic: | The first beat that is heard once you begin to release the pressure of the BP cuff. Contraction phase of the heart |
Diastolic: | Last beat heard once the entire pressure has been released from the cuff. relaxation phase of the heart |
