Exponent | tells you how many times you multiply the base number by itself |
Base | positive or negative integer that may have an exponent above it |
Power | small number above the base number |

Prime Numbers | are only divisible by one and themselves |
Composite Numbers | divisible by more than one and themselves |
GCF | greatest common factor |
Variable GCF | example = X²Y⁵ |
Prime Factorization | 120 ^ 12 10 ^ ^ 3 4 5 2 ^ 2 2 |
Finding Prime Factorization Using GCF | find the factors of the number and then find the factors of the factors until you have all prime numbers |
Simplifying Variable Expressions | simplify the numbers and subtract the exponents from the like variables |
Rational Numbers | 2/1 4/1 |
Negative Rational Numbers | always have the negative sign next to the divisibility line or have it next to the numerator |
